Why an Orthodontist in Seymour? Orthodontist vs. Dentist
An orthodontist is a dentist, but a dentist is not an Orthodontist. All orthodontists are dentists first, even though not every dentist is qualified to be an orthodontist. Dr. Langford, like all orthodontists, has to continue their formal education for 2 or 3 additional years before receiving the necessary license and certification. As an orthodontist, Dr. Langford has spent years studying nothing but how and why to move teeth. This includes what to do, how to plan, and how to execute the appropriate treatment plan.
Why does it matter if you see your Seymour Orthodontist?
Dentists receive basic orthodontic training which allows them to perform root canals, extract wisdom teeth, and treating young children who do not yet need to see an orthodontist. However, specialists receive additional training to give them the skills needed to deal with more complex orthodontic problems.
Seeing a specialist like your Seymour orthodontist may change your experience in braces by:
- Providing more treatment options, with a variety of braces or therapies to choose from
- Having personal experience treating multiple cases that share your unique concern and anatomical characteristics.
- More efficient treatment and visits, because it is the office’s focus area of care.
- Knowing that you’ll receive the best possible outcome on your treatment plan, especially if you have severe bite discrepancies that need to be addressed.
- Being seen more quickly, as a family dentist will be focused on longer patient cases or emergencies throughout the day.
While some may think individuals may think it’s easier to have their orthodontic work completed by their dentist, but convenience shouldn’t be a problem, because you will only be stopping by your Seymour orthodontic offices every six to eight weeks.
And don’t let price be a problem either! Langford Orthodontics is proud to provide affordable treatment in the Seymour area.
Testimonials from Seymour orthodontist patients
We moved from California to Knoxville and needed a new Ortho for my 11-year-old daughter. This practice came highly recommended. Dr. Langford is super nice and always accommodating. This is our second visit and he actually texted us directly after putting on her braces for the first time. The staff is very helpful. I would highly recommend Dr. Langford and his practice to anyone needing Ortho work.
We love Dr. Langford and his staff. We’ve visited several orthodontists before deciding on where to go. They are our favorite! Their price was the best and treatment plan made the most sense. We have two in braces and one in Invisalign. Every time we leave we are smiling or laughing. It’s a laid back and fun atmosphere.
Langford Orthodontics has been absolutely wonderful. I’ve never had any discomfort what so ever. I got my braces off today after almost three years and I’m extremely pleased with the results. I would recommend them to anyone.
Dr. Langford and his staff are wonderful!! We always feel so comfortable in the office and we always leave feeling like we have just visited a friend’s house. I love the way they explain everything to our 9 year old in a way that makes her feel so important and well informed on what to expect! When she first learned she would be seeing an orthodontist so soon, she was terrified. After the first appointment, all of her fear is gone and she is actually excited to have her appliance, even though it isn’t super comfortable. They are fantastic!
