What is Invisalign?
Invisalign is an orthodontic treatment method where the patient wears a series of clear plastic trays, called aligners, that gradually shift crooked teeth into place. Invisalign aligners are completely removable, so you can take them out to enjoy your favorite foods and brush your teeth like normal.
Dr. Allen Langford and Dr. Jordan Ringer are the leading orthodontists for Invisalign in Knoxville and Seymour, so book a consultation to start one of the most convenient and effective orthodontic treatments available today.
How does Invisalign work?
Invisalign treatment is unique as we can put each patient on a personalized treatment track. We’ll start by bringing you in for a consultation where, one of our orthodontists in Knoxville or Seymour, Dr. Langford or Dr. Ringer will assess your teeth and jaw to ensure Invisalign is a good fit for you. If it is, we’ll create the aligners to take your smile from where it is now to where you would like it to be.
To create your aligners, we’ll use state-of-the-art computer technology to capture a 3D model of your mouth. Using this accurate model as a guide, we’ll develop numerous aligner trays, as each set will move you a step closer to the smile of your dreams. Your aligners will be unique to your mouth so that you receive the most personalized orthodontic treatment possible.
When you receive your aligners, you’ll wear each set for roughly two weeks before switching to the next level. Wear your aligners for at least 22 hours daily for the best results. We’ll schedule occasional check-in appointments during your treatment process to ensure everything goes according to plan. If necessary, we can develop more aligners that get your smile where you want it to be.
Invisalign is removable, so you can take the aligners out to eat and drink whatever you want, while traditional braces bond to your teeth for the duration of your treatment, and some diet restrictions come with braces treatment.
Invisalign patients enjoy painless orthodontic treatment free from wires and ceramic or metal brackets. While modern braces are much more comfortable than ever, experiencing occasional mild discomfort from the wires and brackets is expected.
